How should I get my inspiration for this room/project?

A picture is truly worth 1000 words. A piece of prized art work, a great rug, an upholstery or drapery fabric, an accessory, a holiday ornament, a post card, a vintage photo, a room from a classic designer (ex: Billy Baldwin or Mario Buatta or Frank Lloyd Wright) or a room in a decorator’s show house. Save examples like these in a folder to show me at your first appointment.

The choices seem endless. Can you help to narrow the options for us?

If you are feeling overwhelmed by the multitude of possibilities, I can facilitate your decision-making as you select materials, fixtures, furniture, and colors that enhance your taste and lifestyle. I provide a customized service that often includes field trips to showrooms and other sources for your project specific products. I’ll help as much or as little as you require.

My husband and I work full time. How do we arrange follow up appointments and to schedule the work crews and installers?

Turn Key service is something that I will be glad to arrange for you when you are very busy. I will meet with the installer or delivery company at your home at a specified time. Simple! Follow up appointments are scheduled at the best time for everyone. Evening and Saturday appointments are available. Sundays are my standard day off…we all need our day of rest!

Do we have to purchase all new furniture?

It is not necessary for every job. If your existing furniture is in good shape physically it could be slip covered or re-upholstered.

How much should I plan to spend?

That is very personal and based on your specific project needs. Do you need sprucing up all over the house, just on one level or in one room? Do you need new furniture in a whole room? Do you need to do a larger renovation; kitchen or bathroom? Are you going to begin a collection of art? Average sized rooms can run from a few thousand dollars to ten or twenty thousand dollars or more.

What is the most effective and quickest way to update a space?

PAINT, Paint, Paint. It is also the least expensive.
